Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £16,000 per annum pro-rata, actual salary £12,000
The School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to take up appointment in September 2018 until July 2019. The post-holder will work with pupils in Key Stage 2 (aged 7-11) supporting the teaching staff with resources, administration and pupil learning in a caring and safe learning environment. There are two forms in each KS2 year group and the work will be interesting and varied.
You will also work with the Director of Sport to assist with games lessons, extra-curricular sports clubs and sporting fixtures. At St Christopher’s we offer a wide range of sports including netball, football, hockey, tennis, rounders, cricket, dance, running and gymnastics.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in an educational setting with children or have the desire to work with children. An enthusiasm for sports is essential. The post will require some flexibility with start and finish times throughout the week in order to assist with fixtures, for example 8.30am-4pm or 10am-5.30pm.
St Christopher’s is a lively, creative, friendly and innovative girls’ day school (IAPS 4-11) in Hampstead, with a focus on providing an outstanding learning environment underpinned by an extensive programme of sports, music, art and drama. There are approximately 240 pupils with selective entry into Reception and Year 1. St Christopher’s School is a non-denominational, independent day school for girls aged 4-11. It is located in Hampstead, North London, and has about 245 pupils.
The primary school was founded in 1883, with the earliest written records appearing in 1889 of a small class begun by an enthusiastic educationalist in her father's drawing room. This small establishment grew into a preparatory school known as the Hampstead Kindergarten and School.
Now known as St Christopher’s, the school changed from private ownership to a charitable educational trust in 1972. The trustees form the school’s board of governors.
