Job Description

In the first instance, this post is from January 2018 until July 2018 and thereafter will increase to 28 hours subject to the continuation of SEN funding and admission of the child into full-time schooling.

The Head Teacher and Governors wish to appoint a motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with cochlea implants within Nursery. The successful candidate will also be required to support him and small groups of pupils with their learning in Nursery transitioning into Reception at the end of the year. L2 British sign language is essential and experience of supporting SEN pupils would be an advantage. We are looking for a good team player who is able to work well as part of a supportive staff, as well as having an ability to foster excellent working relationships with children.

Other desirable previous experience would include working in a school environment, working previously with this age group, working with pupils with hearing loss, and supporting pupils in 1:1 or small focus-group situations.

We take pride in our church school ethos which Ofsted said 'promotes a sense of community and contributes well to pupils' personal development and good behaviour'.  Our school environment is a very caring, nurturing one and we value and celebrate the achievements of every child. Any applicant must be able to fully support our Church school ethos.

Visits are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Ms Faye Hutt or Mrs Sandie Strachan, in our School Office, to make an appointment.

Application forms and further details are available from the school office and should be returned to the school by 5pm on the closing date.
