Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work as part of our passionate inclusion team whose aim is to see all students succeed.

You should be able to demonstrate successful experience in supporting students in one or more of the following: Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, SpLD or Behaviour, Emotional and Social Difficulties.

The Elmgreen School became part of the Dunraven Educational Trust in September 2021, and together, we are focused on developing an exciting, dynamic and progressive community, focused on improving the outcomes for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Support for Students

  • Supervise and provide particular support for students identified on the Special Educational Needs Register, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs

Support for Teachers

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of students’ work
  • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support students to achieve learning goals
  • Assist with the planning of learning activities

Dunraven Educational Trust Overview

Dunraven Educational Trust (DET) was established in 2016. It now incorporates Dunraven’s All-Through School, Goldfinch Primary, The Elmgreen School, Rosendale Primary School and Van Gogh Primary. About The Elmgreen School

The Elmgreen School is a unique 11-18 secondary school. It is a non denominational mixed school which opened to its first cohort of year 7 students in September 2007.   The secondary Hearing Impaired Unit is co-located within the school. We will reach our full complement of 1100 students in 2014 which will include a 200 place sixth form. The school moved to its inspirational new building in September 2009.

The school is non selective and provides a creative and innovative curriculum, encouraging the highest standards of teaching and learning within an ethos of mutual respect, harmony and achievement.
