An exciting opportunity has arisen for new Teaching Assistants to join the fantastic team at our SEN School on a permanent basis starting from February 2023. These roles are term time only, working 32.5 hours a week. 

We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants but also those new into the sector as full training will be provided, along with the opportunity to progress your career.

We offer a comprehensive 12 week induction package, with support from out HLTA' s throughout your career at MBA. The opportunity to train and progress your career beyond your induction includes access to first aid, fire marshall, food hygiene, rebound and various other intervention therapy training sessions, alongside our general CPD training including STEPS.

Salary:

Level 1 - Actual Salary £17849 (FTE £23,693)

Level 2 - Actual Salary £18504 (FTE £24,562)

Level 3 - Actual Salary £19185 (FTE £ 25,466)

Working under direction of the Class Teacher you will provide access to learning for students and assist the teacher in the management of students in the classroom.

The successful candidate will be a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individual with high expectations to support teaching. The successful candidate will play a significant role in improving the quality of pupils’ learning, together with promoting the vision, values and aspirations of the school and its wider community.

Our learners have complex needs, and so the successful candidate will be able to ensure that they have the skills to support the teacher as they deliver the curriculum and fully engage pupils in their learning, meeting their individual needs and facilitating sustained learner progress.

Martin Bacon Academy opened to pupils in June 2020. It is a new, state of the art, Area Special School, in the heart of the Northstowe Learning Community. We cater for children and young people aged 3 to 19 who have a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning (with other co-occurring conditions). This covers a wide range of needs including learners with autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments.

It is an exciting time to join our team as we embark on the journey to provide world class education to the developing community of Northstowe and the wider community of Cambridgeshire. You will be part of a new, but experienced team that is creating an inclusive, innovative and aspirational learning environment for the young people and families it serves.

We are currently seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants (from Level 1 to 3). When applying please state which level you feel you are working at and wish to apply for.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be a creative and innovative teaching assistant who is committed to meeting the needs of pupils.

• Have the knowledge and experience of working as a teaching assistant within a school alongside SEN pupils or prepared to undertake appropriate training.

• The ability to understand the needs of their pupils and deliver exceptional support to ensure all pupils meet their full potential whilst at the Martin Bacon Academy.

• Have knowledge of working with a range of special educational needs.

• Be open to collaboration between all schools on the Northstowe Education Campus and within the wider community.
