Job overview

We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistants to take a lead role in providing outstanding support for children aged 3 to 11 years, who have a range of special educational needs. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a new team.   

Prospect House is a new free special primary school, that has opened temporarily on the Grange School site. Children are offered an innovative curriculum, and will move to a purpose built new building in 2022. The temporary  school is sited in Higher Blackley. 

Prospere Learning Trust was formed in September 2017 through the merger of two multi academy trusts. Any convictions listed on a DBS check will be considered on a case-by- case basis.

Any information that is “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 will not appear on a DBS certificate.  You will be required to complete a self-declaration of unspent and spent cautions or convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and adult cautions (simple or conditional) or spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.

Any data processed as part of the DBS check will be processed in accordance with data protection regulations and the Trust’s privacy notice.

All applicants must be permitted to work in the UK and hold a relevant work permit where necessary. This is not a role in which the Trust sponsors a visa application. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK in the last 5 years, the Trust will also require additional information in order to comply with safer recruitment requirements. About Prospect House Primary Specialist Support School

Prospect House is a new free special primary school in Higher Blackley, North Manchester. The school is the first school in the Trust to be open north of the city offering places for children with very significant learning needs and other associated additional needs, aged 3 – 11 years old. The brand new purpose built site offers specialist facilities including a state-of-the-art hydropool including changing room to pool hoisting, ASC friendly classrooms and corridors, Food Technology Room, Library, Immersive Learning Room, Sensory Regulation Room, Parent Room, Pets as Therapy Dogs (Alfie and Ovie) and two KuneKune Pigs (Sebastian and Dolores).

Prospect House was graded Outstanding in all areas following the Ofsted inspection in 2023.
