Teaching Assistant Level 2

32 hours per week, Term time only

Easington C of E Primary Academy, part of Ebor Academy Trust, has an opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join us.

Within the role you will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO or member of the School’s Management Team, undertaking pre-planned work and using your initiative to enable pupils to access learning activity. Working with an individual pupil, you will assist with the assessment and monitoring of their progress, providing feedback to the teacher.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children in a supportive capacity , coupled with a good knowledge of child development and personal development needs which promote good behaviour and discipline. You will be resilient in the face of challenging pupil behaviour and will take appropriate action to meet pupil’s needs as they arise, understanding the factors that impact upon childrens’ emotional needs and mental health.

A team player, you will have excellent communication skills for communicating with pupils, teachers, parents and relevant others. Experience of working with a child with autism is preferred.

Most importantly you will have a strong passion and resilience to work with children who often have complex needs.
