Hours: (31.25 hrs per week) Term time only. (8.30 - 3.15pm with half hour for lunch)

Priory Primary School is based in Hull and is part of the Yorkshire and the Humber Cooperative Learning Trust. We are a two form entry Primary Trust School with approximately 430 pupils on role ranging from 3-11 years.

The successful candidate must have a good understanding of the primary curriculum, a positive approach to managing children’s behaviour and be fully committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children. The candidate should have high expectations of the pupils and of themselves. In addition, we also expect excellent skills in English (written reading and spoken) Maths and other curriculum areas.  It would be desirable if candidates had a good understanding of the teaching of phonics and some experience of working with children with additional needs. 

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, be hard working, creative, enthusiastic and flexible. We will provide the successful candidate with a programme of training if required, to be part of a friendly dedicated team in a welcoming learning environment.

As part of the shortlisting process, because we are unable to invite candidates into school, we will be asking shortlisted candidates to produce a video of no longer than 5 minutes of themselves reading a story suitable to share with a small group of children.  We will then shortlist again and invite successful candidates to an interview.

We are an expanding primary school in the west of the city. We are popular and always oversubscribed. Following a significant expansion and building programme, which will be completed in September 2016, we will have enough space for 420 children at Priory Primary School.

•Strong partnerships with other agencies (School Health Plus ½ day weekly support from our school nurse)

•Strong school to school support within our 11 school partnership, with some key staff providing support and challenge within other schools across the city.
