Oxon is a large primary school with 420 children on roll. It is situated on the western side of Shrewsbury in an area that has seen a considerable number of new houses built in the last thirty years. Over that time the school has grown from two classes to fourteen classes.

The applicants appointed to the post will also be asked to work as a lunchtime supervisor for each day; these hours will be paid at Level 1.  Lunchtime hours will vary from 60 minutes to 30 minutes a day and will be confirmed as part of the appointment process.

A willingness to undertake a first aid qualification is an important requirement for all these posts. A contract at Level 2 is dependent on the applicant holding the relevant NVQ2 qualification or an equivalent, applicants without the qualification would be paid at Level 1.

These posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such all applicants who are appointed to this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau before the appointment is confirmed.  This check will include details of cautions, reprimands or warnings, as well as convictions and non-conviction information.
