Teaching Assistant Level 2

 Haxby Road Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant with experience of SEN to work in the Communication and Interaction Enhanced Resource Provision.The role involves working with children who have communication and interaction difficulties, including children with autism.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our team.

The post will involve working with children with significant speech, language and communication difficulties and/or autism. This will involve working with small groups and one to one at times both inside and outside the classroom. We strive to develop independence and strategies for life; this therefore is a role which promotes independence by working with our pupils to understand their individual needs thoroughly and supporting through developing and embedding suitable strategies for the future. Some of our children also spend time in our mainstream setting at Haxby Road and this role would be part of this support package.

There will be an expectation for the successful candidate to take part in appropriate training and be pro-active in seeking appropriate training as need arises. You would be expected to have excellent inter-personal skills and work closely with colleagues and parents towards creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
