Required from September 2020, for our Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Resource Base at Kelvin Hall School.  

Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Grade 6, Term time only, 32.5 hours per week, actual salary £17,031 (Pending regrade.  Post will not be lower than a grade 6)

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working with children who have additional needs, either in a special or mainstream school.  This will be a new challenge, working to support children in the first secondary ASC Resource Base in the city which is now located in a mainstream secondary school. This will be a new facility opening in September 2020.

We are looking for a skilled professional for our provision that is being established with support from Hull City Council and Northcott Special School to meet the needs of students with ASC being their primary need. 

We wish to appoint motivated, skilled and resilient staff to form a team that will enable students to also access as much of the mainstream curriculum as possible. 

Kelvin Hall School was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and the school offers ongoing support, guidance and development for staff.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Fully understands the varied needs of students with ASC, can work well with them in the Base and support their successful integration to mainstream lessons.  
  • Has excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with parents/carers and professional colleagues.
