This is an exciting opportunity to support the progress of students with cognition and learning difficulties. Working with small groups of students, you will deliver and continue to develop further the key stage 3 phonics intervention programme and support the development of literacy interventions across the school. Through this role, you will support and engage students with additional needs to develop and enhance their literacy skills. You should have a positive approach, a caring and patient nature and a passion for literacy. Ideally you have previous experience of working in key stage 2 and/or key stage 3, providing support to children with additional needs. The term time hours of work are from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm with a 3.30 pm finish on Fridays.
We are part of The Education Alliance, a growing multi-academy trust, currently consisting of South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College, Malet Lambert School, Driffield School and Sixth Form, The Snaith School, Hunsley Primary School, North Cave Church of England Primary School and Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training. We are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives. We do this by always doing what is right, trusting each other and standing shoulder to shoulder and doing what we know makes the difference. Doing what is right means always acting with integrity, in the interests of others and being honest, open and transparent.
As a school, we value and prioritise the continuing development of our staff. This comes in a variety of forms, through subject specific professional development delivered in department time, regular teaching and learning workshops, INSET days and through our close links with the Wolds TSA.
Driffield School is based in the heart of the bucolic Yorkshire Wolds and is easily accessible from local towns and cities (with commutes of 20 minutes from Beverley, 30 minutes from Scarborough and 40 minutes from York or Hull).
Driffield School is on an exciting upward trajectory; we are immensely proud of our students and would welcome the opportunity to meet you and show you around our school community. If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Laura Sanders (HR Assistant) in the first instance on 01377 232362 or by email via firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date for applications is 5 pm on 21 June.
Driffield School and Sixth Form is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required prior to appointment.
