Grade 4 (£20,092 - £22,183 (actual £17,185 - £18,974 under 5 years’ service)

37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a curriculum intervention assistant at Newfield School.

Newfield School is part of Mercia Learning Trust, one of the most successful Trusts in the Yorkshire and Humber region, changes the lives of over 3000 children and young people in Sheffield and is continuing to grow.

The post will include not only in class support but also responsibility for the delivery of small group literacy lessons.  The successful candidate will be responsible for working with Departments to ensure rapid and sustained progress of the students they work with.  Part of this will include initial assessment of new starters to the school to ensure that the correct programme is put into place for them from day one.

 You will be passionate about reading, developing young learners and committed to your future career, probably as a secondary school teacher.  This role would be perfect for candidates that would like to gain as much experience as possible in a school prior to starting a career in teaching.

 This is a challenging position that requires a very disciplined and organised applicant.  Each day will bring new challenges and hurdles but should provide immense satisfaction as the speaking and written English of the students being supported improves.
