35 hours, fixed term until 31/08/2022

£21,748 to £23,080 per annum pro rata

Closing date – 13/12/2021

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen at the above school for a high energy and motivated Learning Support Assistant (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) to work one-to-one with a learner with additional needs (Autism) from December 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

AN RBT (ABA) QUALIFICATION IS ESSENTIAL BUT TRAINING CAN BE PROVIDED FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE.

Please note, this position would cease upon the student leaving the school.

Your primary role is to support the learner in a mainstream education classroom and work on bespoke IEP targets related to maximizing their independence in the areas of communication, academic skills, socialisation, self-management of behaviours and daily living skills. You will work alongside a team of professionals and receive free training in positive behaviour support strategies, as well as strategies designed to support the learner’s progress with IEP targets.

We are looking for someone with highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, teaching colleagues, and other professionals. In addition, we are looking for someone with a lot of energy and enthusiasm to create an engaging learning environment, who can respond quickly to changes, and can think quickly on their feet.

An RBT (ABA) qualification is ESSENTIAL but the LEA would fund training for the successful candidate if unqualified in this area. Supervision and support will be ongoing from a Behaviour Analyst.

This role will also include playtime and lunchtime supervision of the pupil.

Elements of personal care may be necessary within the role.

The vacancy is full time (Monday – Friday) until 31.08.2022

The position provides an excellent entry to people who are interested in gaining further experience in education and positive behaviour support.
