This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a passion for supporting the learning experience of young people to join St Gregory’s Catholic High School as a Teaching Assistant (Level 3).  We are an Ofsted ‘Good’ School (January 2020) with an Outstanding Catholic life judgement (Section 48 February 2019). Both reports can be viewed by clicking this link: https://www.stgregoryshigh.com/about-us/ofsted

St. Gregory’s is proud to be one of the highest performing schools in both Warrington and the Liverpool Archdiocese area and as such we are oversubscribed with a waiting list to join our school community.

Our recent Ofsted report noted “Pupils at St Gregory’s are happy, confident and welcoming to visitors. They like each other. There is a strong sense of community across the school. This reflects the school vision, ‘One family inspired to learn’. One pupil said: ‘We are cared about as individuals but, because everyone cares, that makes us all one.”

The successful candidate will join a passionate and successful SEND and pastoral team to work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching &/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs and enabling access to learning for all pupils.

You will provide assistance and support in classroom management, behaviour techniques and provide specialist support in a specific curricular/resource area depending on your areas of experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a top performing school which is expanding and completing a period of growth due to our sustained success.

Values and vision

The mission statement of St Gregory’s reads: “This is our God, the servant King. He calls us now to follow him.” The school’s prayer is: “Inspire us to build a community based on love and respect. May we be empowered to challenge injustice every day. Help us to value and support each other to create a positive Learning environment where all may serve. Amen.”

The staff, parents, governors and students of St. Gregory’s Catholic High School aim to work in partnership to create a vibrant community in which all are valued. At the core of school life is a belief that there is no better inspiration than the example and teaching of Jesus Christ.

The school community seeks to set an example of service, inspired by Jesus, and in doing so fulfil the aspirations that it has for each of its pupils, and to foster their spiritual, academic and personal development.

Ofsted

“Across the school there are examples of good and sometimes outstanding teaching. Many students are eager to learn and have aspirations to excel in their studies and in the contribution they make to school life.”
