Drumbeat School is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants for our Downham and Brockley sites. The positions are for our Teaching Assistant pool and will work in class teams, support classes with interventions, one to one support and long term sickness cover. Drumbeat is a state of the art special school for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from 4 to 19. Drumbeat is more than a school, it is a hub for (ASD) support for Lewisham. It takes a leading role in the provision of outreach support for children (and their families) in mainstream schools and Early Years Centres.
We are continually striving to develop our work with our pupils, parents and carers, the local community and the schools we provide specialist support though our Outreach team and the training we offer. What qualities are we looking for?
An experienced Teaching Assistant with experience of Autism. English and Maths qualification at GCSE level or above. Excellent communication skills, innovative, creative practitioner, experience of special educational needs, flexibility and reliability, high levels of motivation, imagination and enthusiasm to promote strong and effective teamwork.
