Job overview

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our SEND Team (The Linc Department) within the school to support our staff and provide a safe, supportive environment for our students. Please note this post is limited to male applicants. Having considered the nature and context of the work, which will involve providing intimate care of male students, an occupational requirement exists in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. We hope to appoint as soon as possible.

You will normally be required to work 32.5 hours per week excluding lunch Monday to Friday. This is a fixed term appointment; duration is pending SENAR funding. It is anticipated that the position will be required beyond August 2019, dependent on continued funding from SENAR.

Hall Green School is an 11-16 Academy, co-educational and ethnically diverse. We are a popular and heavily oversubscribed institution, described by Ofsted (2016) as ‘a caring, nurturing and inclusive culture’ where the attitudes and behaviour of students are ‘positive, leading to a calm and purposeful learning environment.’

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • can assist in promoting the learning and personal development of all pupils,      including, but not exclusively, those with special educational needs;
  • has the ability to work individually and as part of an effective team;
  • has good numeracy and written skills;
  • has good communication skills to interact professionally with pupils, teaching      staff and other colleagues;
  • is sensitive to the needs of teenagers requiring intimate care.

For further details and an application pack, please see the school website www.hallgreen.bham.sch.uk where an application pack can be downloaded during the school’s half term break and emailed to recruitment@hallgreen.bham.sch.uk

Closing date: 12.00 noon on Tuesday 13 November 2018

Please note that all applicants must complete the school’s application form only. Any other form of application or CVs alone will not be accepted.

Hall Green School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects all those working at the School to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check with barred list check.
