Job overview

Malcolm Arnold Prep School is now recruiting for a Teaching Assistant.   This role could be the ideal next step in your career.

Malcolm Arnold Prep School is a Church of England state school which is also part of the David Ross Education Trust. We are situated on the Malcolm Arnold Academy site, in a new, light and airy, purpose built building with access to the excellent facilities. As such it is spacious and customised to our every need and is a fantastic place to work. We are a close knit team who love our school and have organically grown as a staff. Due to our continued expansion, we are now looking for new TA’s to help us cater for another new year group. We are heavily oversubscribed and our parents gave us a 100% recommendation rating recently. With delightful pupils, MAPS is a great place to work and develop in your career as a TA and beyond.

About the role

To support students, including those within SEN, with their learning and personal care needs; to work with other staff to further students’ independence and to enable them to access specific areas of the curriculum. The post holder will also organise and undertake other related duties to support learning, personal and social development.

Full and part-time considered.

About the School

MAPS is a warm friendly school where we encourage pupils to develop their self-confidence and self-worth at an early age.  We offer an unashamedly academic education but we also value highly the extra-curricular activities we offer and want each and every child to experience new and exciting opportunities regularly.  If you feel you are of a similar mindset and believe in educating the whole child then we would love to hear from you.  You will need to be committed to the school and pupils and desire to make a real difference to the children in your care.  A flexible approach will also be needed as no two days are ever the same. We are a lovely school with superb pupils who are well behaved and keen to learn.  We are full with first choice pupils, and are oversubscribed.

If you believe in the holistic education of children, the ability to give every child the best possible start in life, and want to work in a positive friendly team, then do think about applying.

Broadening horizons and growing passions...

We are a new state-funded primary preparatory school, which opened in September 2014 for reception pupils. In September 2016 we moved into our brand new, purpose-built school building, which is located on the Malcolm Arnold Academy Campus. Our school is committed to ensuring that our children not only excel in the classroom, but also gain the skills and passions to enable them to be successful long into their futures.

We focus on positive behaviour management systems and promote the values we would like our children to embody through our MAPS Code of Conduct. Our code is simple and well-understood, even by Reception children:

  • Make kind choices
  • Aim high; seek new challenges
  • Persevere; always try your best
  • Show respect and good manners

Our school has strong links with the Diocese of Peterborough and is a Church of England school which is fully supportive of the Christian faith. However, our school values system transcends religion and we are fully inclusive of all faiths and none.
