About us and the role

We are currently recruiting for a part time Teaching Assistant plus Midday Supervisor.

Avanti Meadows Primary School opened in September 2021 and as we continue to grow, we are delighted to open 2 further classes next academic year.

Our children take great pride in their new school and every member of the school community works hard to provide high-quality education, pastoral care and support for every child and every family.

We set the highest expectations from the outset to ensure that we provide creative learning experiences, which inspire and challenge our pupils to achieve the very best in all aspects of their learning.

As the first school within the Avanti all-through learning village in Bishop’s Stortford, we will be working closely with our sister school Avanti Brook once it opens in September 2023. Resulting in many opportunities for collaboration and career development for the right candidate.

What will you do?

  • To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
  • To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • To ensure the health and safety of children at lunchtimes under the direction of the appropriate person as identified by the school.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working with relevant age group within a learning environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide necessary personal care to children.
  • To be able to take charge of groups of children setting and maintaining acceptable behavioural standards.
