Shrivenham is a mixed, non-selective, Church of England primary situated near Swindon, Wiltshire. It is part of the Faringdon Academy of Schools multi-academy trust, which supports seven other schools in the UK. A smaller than average primary school, Shrivenham will provide 210 places to students aged 4-11 when fully subscribed.

After the establishment of Faringdon Academy in 2012, Shrivenham itself opened in November 2013.

Values and Vision

“We play, we learn, we achieve” is the school's motto. Operating under the Diocese of Oxford, Shrivenham’s values are strongly rooted in its Church of England faith. The school has its own prayer, as well as a strong spiritual and moral foundation which emphasises the Christian values of happiness, honesty and respect. It aspires to create a supportive environment where everyone is cared for, and encourages the involvement and support of parents and the local community. Children develop a sense of responsibility at the same time as gaining a well-rounded education. Despite being rooted in tradition, Shrivenham uses a modern, thematic curriculum to encourage students to develop their love of learning.

Ofsted

“Teaching is now good because of the regular oversight of this aspect of the school’s work and also teachers’ keenness to develop professionally. The vast majority of parents and carers are happy with their children’s education and they provide good support for the school. Governors, too, are supportive and helpful in the school’s development.”
