We are looking for two teaching assistants to join our team as soon as possible. We expect all our TAs to be able to work flexibly by supporting learning in classrooms as well as supporting individual children with EHC Plans in our inclusive school.
Both roles are suitable for graduates who are interested in a career in teaching.
We are looking for individuals who will work with teaching staff to support children in the classroom, undertake interventions as needed and to support children with additional needs. Ideal candidates will be passionate about children’s learning.
- Hold a recognised and relevant NVQ level 2 qualification (minimum) or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.
- Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A – C.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Can solve problems and can exercise initiative and independent action.
- Demonstrate full understanding of safeguarding issues within a school setting.
- Experience of teaching interventions is desirable though not essential.
Ideally, you will already have gained experience of working with primary aged children.
Post 1 (fixed term for 1 year) - supporting a child with additional needs within a Year 6 class. Working term time only for 30 hours per week (8.45am-3.45am). The post is Hay Grade 5, spine point range 16-23 (£21,726- £25,233). Actual pro rata salary is £15,584- £18,099.
Post 2 (permanent) - based in Early Years, you would spend 2 days a week supporting a child with an EHC plan and 3 days providing general classroom support. Working term time only for 33 hours per week (2 days a week 8.35am - 3.35am, 3 days a week 8am-4pm). The post is Hay Grade 5, spine point range 16-23 (£21,726- £25,233). Actual pro rata salary is £17,142.46-£19,909.58
