Teaching Assistants – Fixed term in the first instance
30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year to start September 2019
Grade 2 - £18,065 - £18,426 pro rata (actual starting salary: £12,432 - £12,681)

Felixstowe Academy is a new state of the art building equipped with a ‘super-lab’, a number of multi-purpose learning spaces, performance spaces, which are set in large grounds on the edge of Felixstowe. Technology is at the cutting edge of developments, with a successful Computing department that has four dedicated IT suites with the latest software and a supportive Network manager and technician. Achievement and participation in Sports and Arts are very high with students succeeding at local, county and national level. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Special Education Needs and Inclusion team, working with young people in the 11-16 age groups helping them to maximise their potential. The role will encompass in-class, individual and group support. To be successful you will be flexible and demonstrate an ability to use your own initiative in meeting the needs of students with SEND. In addition you will have secure literacy, numeracy and ICT skills and will have a range of experience of working with young people with SEND.
