Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant at Furzefield Primary School, starting in the Summer Term.  The successful applicant will need to be confident supporting children’s learning in English and maths in KS2. This is an exciting opportunity for applicants who wish to be part of a dedicated team and have a strong desire to develop children’s learning and improve the life chances of all of our children. Ideally you will be patient and calm, with a consistent and positive approach to managing pupils’ behaviour and a good understanding of how children learn. This role would also suit a graduate interested in gaining experience in a primary school before applying for a place on the school centred initial teacher training initiative. 

Furzefield is a vibrant community school in Merstham with an established Good Ofsted grading that provides education for pupils aged 3-11 years.  We offer a creative curriculum, including Forest School, pupils who are eager to learn, and staff who are friendly, supportive and continually striving to provide the very best for children.

The contract is for 27.5 hours per week. Working hours to be confirmed but you will definitely be expected to work Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks per year). 

Surrey Pay Range, Scale 3:  £17,316 - £18,242 (FTE), pro rata’d to £11,276 - £11,879 per annum.
