Job overview

Windale Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive city school that has a positive, diverse community and a determination that all children will succeed. Our children are energetic, keen to learn and enjoy being challenged. The School Council created our school motto: Aim high – be the best you can be! This ethos is a golden thread that can be seen throughout our whole school community.

We are looking to employ an additional Teaching Assistant to join our team of supportive and professional staff. The role will include supporting a key child with complex SEND on a 1:1 basis each afternoon and general TA duties. The role is based within our two–year-old setting and experience of working within this age range and with children who have complex SEND is desirable, but not essential.

We can offer you:

  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development, within our school and our Trust.
  • An individual CPD pathway, to develop practice, and help you reach the next stage in your career.
  • An opportunity to work in a charitable organisation that is focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
  • A competitive salary, a popular benefits and rewards programme.
  • The opportunity to work as part of a supportive team of staff, working with our incredible children.

What our staff team say is the best thing about working at Windale:

  • “We have an amazing team of staff, who are committed and professional at all times. The children are fantastic and fully engage with learning, trying to be the best they can be.”
  • “The CPD, the career growth opportunities and the children themselves. The incredible effort being made by absolutely everyone who works here to make the school the very best it can be.”
  • “The colleagues I work with are hard-working, motivated and give everything they can to their role. Staff are happy to come to work and enjoy spending time with the children. They work hard and there is a culture of sharing successes”.
  • “That I have the best ability to teach and support children in their everyday learning. It is also a great school to work in and a good team.”

The right candidate will have:

  • Drive, determination and a passion for working with children and their families.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a large staff team.
  • A positive outlook and a resilient nature.
  • A commitment to developing their own, and others, practice as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of children with complex SEND.

If you feel you would be suitable to work within our supportive and friendly team, we would like to hear from you!

United Learning

Windale Primary School is part of United Learning, a large and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
