Teaching Assistant

Canary Wharf College (Glenworth) seeks a Teaching Assistant for September 2022.

We are looking to appoint teaching assistants, primarily to give one-to-one support to pupils in class, in small groups and individually.  We also need class-based teaching assistants, with a strong background in SEN..

Glenworth is a fabulous place to work. In this multi-cultural school community, pupils are well-behaved and motivated with good discipline and supportive families. The staff team is creative and enthusiastic and has been providing a high standard of innovative education over the course of the lockdown and since.

The school is part of a highly successful Multi-Academy Trust and is rated Outstanding. Routines and collaborative working are embedded in our practice, but we constantly seek to improve our work and thus seek energetic innovators. The Trust welcomes staff and pupils from all faiths while operating within a Christian ethos.

Glenworth is based in a quiet setting in the heart of the Isle of Dogs in Tower Hamlets, yet close to Mudchute and Island Gardens DLR and central London. The school works long days, balanced by shorter terms.

This position would suit an experienced TA looking for a new challenge.  We are firmly committed to staff CPD at all levels.

If you have any questions , please e-mail Michelle Richards, HR Manager (mrichards@canarywharfcollege.co.uk).

Please complete the application form on the TES and write your statement.  In this you should outline your skills and experience and how they demonstrate that you can meet the requirements of the role. You should also write approximately 500 words on “Why I want to work at Canary Wharf College and what I hope to achieve here”.  Applications that fail to do this will not be shortlisted.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the application deadline once a sufficient number of applications have been received.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.
