Applications are now open for a Teaching Assistant post to work with students in years 7-11 and in our sixth form. Teaching Assistants work in lessons, and with individuals or small groups of students outside of lessons, supporting their learning and behaviour. The successful candidates will work with students with a broad range of special educational needs and those who require support with numeracy and literacy. There may be an opportunity to specialise in specific areas for candidates with relevant experience and qualifications. We also have some one-to-one roles available, working specifically with individuals who have more complex needs.
Applicants must have a C grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent. The positions would be well suited to graduates in English, mathematics or science who wish to gain school experience before going on to a teacher training course or those who have experience working with young people with complex needs.
We are looking for enthusiastic and effective people with an ability to adapt and cope with change to complement our team. Applicants require good positive behaviour management skills, the ability to remain calm, excellent literacy and an attention to detail. Experience of working with young people would be an advantage.
