Salary: £15,400 (£10.36 ph)
Contract: 43.7 weeks (Term time only) 12 Fixed term contract

Do you want to have the autonomy to share your ideas to create fun, exciting and engaging ways for children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) challenges to learn life skills? Bramfield School is looking for innovative thinkers who can help keep our students engaged, excited and develop their knowledge of life skills to give our students a real opportunity to succeed and make their way in the world.
This isn’t like your everyday mainstream teaching assistant role. We are looking for creative, resilient and open-minded individuals, to join our family feel team. You will be trained how to provide a holistic approach to encourage and inspire even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. You will utilise this training to develop our Children’s understanding of how to perform life tasks such as washing clothes, cooking and shopping whilst also adapting their communication for different audiences and enabling the children to think about their future and what they would like to achieve.
Working with small groups of children, we are looking for candidates who are life enthusiasts and want to share their infectious positivity, get involved, have their ideas heard and who are able to coach and develop children and young people in workshops and in the real world. Our children may not have had the best start in life and may be challenging to see if they can rely and form a trust with you; therefore, we need candidates who are resilient, caring and motivated by making a difference. Previous experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is not essential but it is preferred. If you have no experience, please research SEMH and the challenges it presents.
Bramfield House School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk. The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education and care possible.

Bramfield House School stands in magnificent grounds and gives pupils extraordinary educational opportunities through its innovative, successful teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.

The comfortable boarding facilities are located in the main house until the boys reach Years 10 and 11, when the emphasis develops towards semi-independent living, and preparation for life at college, an apprenticeship, university or work.
