Job overview

Due to the growth of the school, we are looking to appoint an additional part-time teaching assistant to join our year 6 team.

Who are we?

Manchester Communication Primary Academy opened its doors in September 2014 to a small cohort of EYFS/Y1 children, since then it has grown by a 2-form year group each year. The school now has its first cohort of Y6.

Our recent Ofsted inspection graded the school as ‘Good’ in all areas as ‘The Principal has created a school with a ‘heart’; a kind, caring and supportive community. There are 25 different languages spoken yet every pupil is treated as a member of the same family.’ (Ofsted 2017)

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we are looking for an excellent practitioner with the ability to support high quality teaching and learning. You may have experience working in a school or have experience of working with children in another context.

We are looking to appoint someone who holds our values of honesty, trustworthiness, bravery and helpfulness to become an inspiring educator.

What does the role involve?

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join an effective team, working in Y6 to support our oldest children on the next steps of their learning journey.

The successful candidate will support in lessons, design and deliver small group and individual sessions, supporting children with a wide range of needs.

The successful candidate will also be required to support lunchtime each day, supervising children as they use the dining hall and playground.

When does the role start?

The start-date for the role is the September/October 2019.

If I’m still interested, what should I do next?

We think that applying for a new role should always be seen as a 2-way process, you have to be right for us, but the school also has to be right for you. So if you are interested in applying, please do feel free to get in touch, come for a look around, or have a chat about the role.
