About Djanogly City Academy Nottingham - Main Campus

About us

Djanogly City Academy is a member of the Djanogly family of schools which, together, provide education for 3–17-year-olds in the areas around Hyson Green and Sherwood in Nottingham.

The academy is situated on Gregory Boulevard, near the Hyson Green area of Nottingham. Physical Education is taught both on-site and at our extensive sport facilities nearby on Haydn Road.

Teaching and learning is provided through a broad and balanced curriculum and students are taught the value and benefits of having a disciplined approach to learning and personal development.

Our facilities also include extensive specialist classrooms and a professional hairdressing salon.

Our curriculum

We are pleased to offer a wide range of ‘rich subjects’, covering the arts, sciences and life skills.  We also know that getting the basics right is vital to ensure our students have the best start in working and academic life and are continuing to improve the way we teach and support the study of core subjects, particularly English, Maths and Science.

Partnerships

In a school of this size (number of pupils), we place great emphasis on building and maintaining good working relationships with a range of local and national partners, from support networks to suppliers.  We work closely with sporting agencies, other schools and colleges as well as The University of Nottingham to improve the range of learning and skills available to our students.  This includes access to high quality communications equipment, sporting opportunities and personal development workshops.

Our community

Djanogly City Academy is sited in an area of rich and diverse cultures and benefits from the positive opportunities these bring.  These include access to facilities and information on the doorstep, which provides a distinct advantage over other academies and schools that are not so fortunate.  It also means that we can provide a venue for our own community to use, including meeting and dance/drama facilities as well as a 300-seat theatre.
