Merton College are now seeking a Team Leader to join their School Management Team in supporting colleagues in raising the quality of education for all provision.


The Team Leader will provide leadership in Community Learning courses and monitor and support staff in ensuring the quality of the curriculum remains high, meeting deadlines, and that emerging needs of all partners are met.


You will coordinate TLA activities, including conducting lesson observations, learning walks, and setting action plans to support staff in developing their teaching and learning profile.


As our Team Leader, you will hold a degree or relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject and have (or be willing to work towards) a management qualification. With excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher, you will have high personal standards and expectations and experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential. You will be hardworking and flexible, have experience of managing, supporting and developing staff and have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how these can be used to enhance the student experience.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
