We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to provide strong leadership for our Design & Technology department. We offer a wide range of subjects including Construction, Product Design, Textiles & Food Science. Our aim is to inspire students to have a broad & balanced approach to their curriculum choices at KS4 & 5.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a strong track record as an excellent teacher of Design & Technology who is committed to maximising the achievement of every student in the subject
  • Have strong leadership skills
  • Be a passionate advocate of the subject who contributes effectively to departmental and whole school improvement
  • Be able to teach across the age and ability range for KS3 to 5 - preferably with a Food Science specialism.
  • Be able and willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school
  • Have high expectations of themselves and others
  • Be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be flexible and a good team player

Oaks Park High School is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school with over 400 students in the Sixth Form. The school moved to 10 forms of entry in September 2015 and recently opened the Craig Foster Building to meet the increase in student numbers. The school prides itself on being an ambitious and supportive multicultural community that keeps our child-centred philosophy at the heart of everything that we do.
