Fixed Term Contract until June 2022, Part Time (7.2 hours per week)

As a member of the Maths Management Team, the Team Leader will have collective responsibility for the implementation of the Maths Improvement Plans, as well as, contributing to College Objectives and Improvement Plans. The specific remit is to raise the achievement rates, including GCSE high grades, through focused work to develop staff performance.

As Team Leader, you will ensure high quality student learning in GCSE and Functional Skills lessons, including assisting the Curriculum Manager in carrying out learning walks. Teaching GCSE and lower-level qualifications, you will coordinate schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring and ensure the effective and efficient use of resources allocated to the programmes.

We’re looking for an individual who is educated to Degree level or who holds relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject and who has excellent teaching skills in Maths, recognised as a good or better teacher. With high personal standards and expectations, you will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and have experience of successfully monitoring ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential.

Experience of managing, supporting and developing staff is desirable, as is a track record of making sustained improvements.

A teaching qualification is not essential; however, we do ask that you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses.
