Coloma Convent Girls’ School is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 all girls comprehensive school and has been consistently recognised as one of the top performing non-selective secondary schools in the country. In October 2019 Coloma received its fifth ‘Outstanding’ Diocesan Inspection report and in 2021 was named ‘Best School in Croydon’ in the Real Schools Guide.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated Chemistry teacher to join one of Coloma’s most successful departments. This summer 76% of our A-level Chemistry students achieved an A*-B grade whilst at GCSE an impressive 79% achieved a Grade 7 or above. In 2022 we achieved remarkable exam results with a provisional Progress 8 score of 0.85 at GCSE and 43% of A Level students achieving A*/A grades and 22% D* BTEC.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to teach Chemistry across the age and ability range up to KS5.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand the importance of monitoring student progress and effective intervention.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across the science faculty.
