Job overview

Witherslack Group residential homes offer young people a stable and secure home environment that they may not have elsewhere. That’s why job security is a big part of what’s on offer here. You’ll be making sure our homes are great places to stay and have a long-term positive impact on the lives of our young people. Likewise, we’ll make sure you are well taken care of, with all the support you need to do something really worthwhile.

Working in our residential homes comes with a duty to engage and build beneficial relationships with our young people, many of whom are struggling with their difficult teenage years. For Team Leaders, that duty is two-fold, as your colleagues will also look to you for support and advice. First to know when it comes to new child care information you’ll be well-equipped to make sure your teammates have all the necessary guidance and motivation they need and, when required, you’ll be able to step up to deputise for your Registered and Deputy managers.

Leading by example in the way you interact with our young people you’ll be a key player in making Witherslack Group residential homes such great places to live and learn. It’s truly rewarding work with some amazing benefits – not least the satisfaction that comes from watching your hard work pay off in the long-term.

 About you

  • You’ll be someone able to relate to young people and build relationships
  • You’ll be able to provide leadership that inspires your colleagues
  • You’ll have a level 3 diploma in residential childcare (or equivalent) and at least 12 months experience
  • You’ll be compassionate and emotionally resilient, as well as supportive
  • You have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months
  • You’d like to work in a place that takes issues like coronavirus so seriously, that it will not only allow you to interview by video to help keep everyone stay safe, but will also make sure as an employee you’re taken care of financially should you fall ill and need to self-isolate
