An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Construction and the Built Environment at Exeter College working as part of a team of Technical Support Facilitators to support the Carpentry and Joinery department. This department has seen huge growth in apprentices and full-time learners as well as substantial investment into staff, facility and equipment over the last few years and this role is to support this growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with industry experience in carpentry and/or joinery, offering excellent prospects for personal development.

The role focuses on supporting the teaching, learning and assessment activities that take place within the workshop to include preparation of materials for use, maintaining and developing a safe and stimulating learning and working environments, issuing and ordering of tools and equipment and manufacturing of products to support assessment using machinery. We offer courses to students that range from basic to advanced levels and support is required to meet the needs of these learners. Students are given the opportunity to learn a range of practical skills supported by in-depth under pinning knowledge of the subject. Ideal candidates will have significant industry skills and experience, have a good worth ethic and be a reliable and positive team member. We will also support any progression for those who wish to advance into a career in teaching.
