About the role: 

We are looking for an Animal care Technician who is able to work on a flexible basis for an average of 15.75 hours per week usually between 8.30am – 5pm however you may be requested to work evenings to monitor the Animal Care Centre for College Marketing events to promote the Provision and support student engagement.  The Post will include some weekend and Bank Holiday work to provide 365 day care within the Animal centre. 

Duties will include:  

- Assisting in learning sessions with Animal care handling and monitoring students carrying out duties within the animal care centre.  

- Ordering and maintaining food and resources to enable the Animal centre to operate efficiently. 

- Monitoring animal health and well-being, ensuring all animal enclosures are regularly cleaned and optimum living conditions are provided. 

- Monitoring student activity within the Animal centre ensuring PPE regulations and excellent hygiene standards are imposed.  

You will be working with Animal Care staff to set up and deliver practical work for students who are studying Animal care / or Animal Management, City and Guilds qualifications.  

About you: 

You will have previous experience in working in Animal care and enjoy working with 16-18 year old and adult students. Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths and a minimum of Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management are essential.   Life at City of Bristol College: The City of Bristol College offer generous holiday entitlement of 26 days pro rata with an additional 16 bank holiday and College closure days so you will have plenty of time to recharge your batteries.
