Penistone Grammar School has an exciting opportunity for an Art Technician to work closely with our talented art teachers to directly support teaching and learning.

 

Contract:         Fixed term to cover Maternity Leave, 35 hours per week, term time: 39 weeks and 2 days per year

Salary Range:  Grade 4 SCP 7 - 11, Salary: £22369 to £24054 per annum (FTE)

Actual Salary:  £18254 - £19629 per annum

Start Date:       September 2023

End Date:        July 2024


About the role:

The Technician role is an integral part of the curriculum team and the post holder will need to ensure the appropriate equipment and resources are prepared, ready and available for lessons while adhering to the correct procedures (for example, COSHH, Health & Safety etc). They will also need to support teaching staff and students in practical lessons.


Ideally candidates will have:


-       A keen interest in art

-       Experience of working in a similar environment

-       The ability to work well as part of a team while maintaining responsibility for your own work load

-       A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C or above including English and mathematics

-       A first aid certificate (or willingness to become qualified in first aid)

Penistone Grammar School really is a special place to work. There’s no doubt that our amazing student body of 1900 students, including 300 Post 16 students, and our state-of-the-art building set in beautiful surroundings, make coming to work worthwhile.
