We are seeking to appoint a part-time D&T Technician be responsible for the effective day-to-day resource management of the D&T classrooms, ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of equipment and teaching materials for Product Design and other D&T lessons. They will ensure that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times, that operating procedures are monitored to ensure best practice and that personal protective equipment is used where appropriate.
We are ideally looking for candidates who have experience of working as a Technician or similar role, ideally in a school/educational environment. They will have experience of working with and maintaining/repairing tools and equipment, including pillar drills, sanding machines, laser cutters, bandsaws, circular saws, and hand tools and knowledge of basic food preparation techniques. They will have a good knowledge of Health & Safety practices and a good level of computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.
