Job overview
Experienced and innovative Wood & Graphics technology teacher? Would you like to live in an outdoors, rural area OR a larger coastal centre?
Inglewood High School is a rural, co-educational secondary school twenty minutes away from the township of New Plymouth. Both towns are found in the Taranaki region of New Zealand, where Mount Taranaki stands as a focal point. Inglewood High School has a roll of 400 pupils and 34 teaching staff, meaning that the school is large enough to offer a varied curriculum, but also has the capacity to offer individual attention to their students.
The technology department is looking for a teacher who specialises in Wood & Graphics, with recent experience in teaching to senior level. It is important that you offer a collaborative and inventive approach to continue the work of this new department.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Have a PGCE in Design Technology (or similar);
- Have proven experience in teaching Wood & Graphics to senior level;
- Have the ability to utilize the CAD to turn technical drawings into 3D design;
- Be proficient and experienced in using the appropriate technology equipment in a safe and supporting classroom environment;
- Be committed to young people and their interests;
- Have a strong sense of pastoral care, and look to build relationships with students and the wider community.
