Hurunui College is situated in a picturesque site nestled in the foothills of Hawarden township in North Canterbury, 80km north of Christchurch. Both junior and senior schools are located on the one site enabling the school to operate as a cohesive unit.

Hurunui College is proud of its reputation in the sporting, cultural and academic fields. Our students compete strongly in sports such as swimming, athletics, tennis, netball, rugby and hockey. Students participate in regional cultural and academic events including music festivals, speech, maths and reading contests, science fairs and the Hawarden A&P Show. Our students have established a fine record of performance in external examinations over many years.

A comprehensive profile of each child is developed during his/her schooling at Hurunui College so that individual needs, interests and special abilities are fully understood.

Technology Teacher (Years 7-15) - Full time,  Permanent, Start Date: 26/01/2018

We are seeking a talented and dynamic technology teacher with the ability to teach in the Hard Materials and DVC areas through to the senior levels in our school. Having the ability to also teach in the area of digital technologies is an advantage.  Please state specialist strengths within technology and across the curriculum.

Hurunui College has the ability to deliver a diverse technology programme in modern technology facilities. The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to deliver a future-focused technology programme in a small, supportive and collaborative school environment.

Hurunui College is a 1-15 Area School situated in Hawarden, the gateway to the Lake Sumner Forest Park area, and an easy 50mins drive north of Christchurch. Christchurch is New Zealand’s South Island’s largest city with a growing metropolitan area and international Airport. Hurunui College is ideally positioned in a rural setting with easy access to mountains, lakes, rivers and coastal areas. Hurunui College will work closely to support a successful applicant in making their transition to New Zealand.
