Cromwell Community College, a member of the Active Learning Trust, is an all-through school which aspires to be outstanding and we want our technology and catering department to be a driving force towards this aspiration. We are currently looking to appoint a Technology Technician to play a key role in working within this busy, friendly school environment.

A good knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques, machines and equipment is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team while still demonstrating initiative. High standards of professionalism are needed for this vital role. The post will involve preparing, organising and maintaining materials and equipment so that it is ready for staff and students. It will also include contacting suppliers and working with college administration staff to ensure that the faculty is always equipped. This is done through working with the Head of Department to make essential decisions.

We are a popular, oversubscribed and successful all-through school with a Primary Phase from Early Years Foundation Phase to Year 3 in September 2023, and Years 7-13 in the Secondary Phase. It is imperative that we ensure our pupils access a curriculum which is relevant and ambitious throughout their journey at Cromwell.

At Cromwell, our staff are determined, resourceful and tireless in their pursuit of the best outcomes for all pupils. Staff are hardworking, enthusiastic and committed. This is an excellent time to join the Technology Department to support the college’s drive to become outstanding. If you are enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate about technology, recognising its importance for the development of all pupils from Early Years to Sixth Form, and will strive to provide excellent support to our already successful faculty, we would like to hear from you.

Cromwell Community College offers the chance to join a strong and experienced team and for you to develop your skills and enhance your career development through a wealth of CPD opportunities which is a particular strength of the Trust.

The Academy and the Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We expect all staff to actively share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to the taking of satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record clearance in line with the need to create and maintain a safe culture in our recruitment.

Applicants are thanked for their interest in Cromwell Community College. Please note that only candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted. We are unable to accept CVs.

Ofsted report

Pupils enjoy a wide choice of subjects suited to their abilities and interests. The most able pupils are steered towards three sciences, humanities and foreign languages to enable more of them to gain the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) qualification. A small proportion of less-able pupils follow a curriculum matched to their needs and abilities in order to develop their literacy and numeracy, promote their social skills and study qualifications suited to the workplace.”
