Job overview

Teacher of Chemistry (0.6FTE)

Salary:  MPS / UPS (Inner London Scale)

Temporary

Required from February 2022 to April 2022

Oaklands School is a fully inclusive school with a wealth of opportunities for all learners to achieve their full potential. We are a school which serves the local community and promotes co-operation, responsibility and respect.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high achieving school at GCSE and A level for a temporary period from February to April 2022.  We have an outstanding and talented Science Faculty with an established record of fantastic exam performance. Our science value added scores have been significantly above national average and in the top 20% of schools for three years running (2017-2019). Entries into separate sciences at GCSE are consistently high (Nearly 50%) and many of these students go on to take up Chemistry A level, which has been consistently popular.

We welcome applications from candidates from a range of experience levels: we are confident in our capacity and ability to coach those new to the profession to become outstanding practitioners, and as such this role could be perfect for a well-qualified but recently trained Chemistry graduate. Equally, we are keen to hear from experienced leaders of Chemistry. Whatever the experience level, we are looking for candidates with strong qualifications who are confident in teaching Chemistry to year 13.

At Oaklands we have highly committed and dedicated staff who work very hard so that our students can achieve their high expectations. If you think you can take our Science Faculty to greater heights, we look forward to hearing from you.

We are keen to hear from you if you:-

• Are an excellent teacher

• Aspire to develop further as a professional

• Are flexible and adaptable

• Are ambitious, hard-working and a team player

We can offer you the opportunity to join:

• A highly committed and dedicated staff.

• Excellent CPD opportunities.

• Students who love their school, are ambitious and want to learn

Oaklands is an Equal Opportunities employer and welcomes applications for all posts from appropriately qualified persons regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, religion or belief.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be DBS checked.
