We are looking for two temporary Teachers of Science to cover maternity at Nunthorpe Academy.

Teacher of Science - Maternity cover

We require two energetic, inspirational and talented teachers with a genuine intellect and passion for science and to teach at KS3 and KS4, with a possibility to teach KS5.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, well-qualified temporary teachers of Science, to contribute to the development of a strong and effective department.

We are a large, experienced science faculty with 15 teachers and 5 support staff.

The faculty teaches the AQA Trilogy Combined Science and the Separate Sciences to GCSE.

Required as soon as possible.

Salary is MPS/UPS.

1 Full time required for maternity cover initially over 2 terms, subject to change (Maternity leave).

1 Part time 0.8 Full Time Equivalent  required for maternity cover initially over 2 terms, subject to change (Maternity leave).

The successful candidate will have the ability and potential to consistently deliver outstanding lessons; and be ambitious for the achievement of every student in their care.

The applicant must have a Science specialism and the energy and commitment to teach students of all ages and abilities up to KS4, and potentially, including A-Level. 

The successful candidate will have the ability and potential to deliver consistently outstanding lessons at Key stage 3, GCSE and possibly A Level; and be ambitious for the achievement of every student in their care.

Nunthorpe Academy is part of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust (NMAT). 

Nunthorpe Academy is a mainstream, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, and has over 1600 students. The Academy was rated “Good” in its most recent Ofsted inspection (2019) whilst the sixth form provision maintained its 'Outstanding' status.
