Theatre Manager

Furze Platt Senior SchoolWindsor and Maidenhead

Fixed term contract of one year in the first instance. Required to work during the week and weekends to support theatre events. 15 hours per week on a flexible basis. All year round.

Furze Platt Senior School is privileged to have a newly built fully functional Theatre with state of the art lighting and sound. The Theatre, with a capacity of up to 500, will be a venue for school productions, professional performances and for hire by local community groups.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our school team to support us with launching our new Theatre and maximising the benefits for both the school and the community. We are seeking an individual with an enthusiasm for theatre, performance and the arts to manage external bookings and promote the theatre.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be the main contact for prospective theatre hirers and will support clients from initial enquiry through to their events taking place. You will be responsible for recruiting and overseeing a bank of theatre technicians who will work on a casual basis operating the lighting and audio aspects for external hirers.

You will also play a key role in establishing a rolling programme of informal evening fundraising events in the Theatre to generate additional income for the school.

This role requires someone with great organisational and project management skills who is calm under pressure and enjoys working with a wide range of people including theatre hirers, school staff, theatre technicians and PTFA volunteers.

Core hours will be 15 per week and you will work flexibly in line with Theatre requirements. You will ensure that events and functions have sufficient staff cover to operate safely and efficiently and/or take on the role of duty manager at events.
