Hours:           37.5 hours per week; Monday- Friday 8:30-16:30

About the role

We are looking for a Therapy Assistant to join us working as a key integrated member of our Wellbeing and Clinical team at Options Longdon Park in Egginton. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical provision within our SEN School setting. You will work with the Speech and Language Therapist to support autistic children and young people with associated needs such as ADHD, social communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and trauma. In this role you will support the onsite clinicians by being an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

Our friendly on-site clinical team consists of Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy and Psychological Therapists. Under supervision, you will work both independently and jointly with other professionals to deliver 1:1, group and whole school assessments interventions for our children and young people.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role would be advantageous 
  • Experience of working within an educational setting would be advantageous
  • Skilled in working as part of a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with Autistic children and young people
  • Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience completing administration tasks for a team would be advantageous
