The school provides for 150 pupils and students between the ages of 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs and with a primary diagnosis of speech language and communication needs and/or autistic spectrum conditions.

At St Dominic’s School we believe that all pupils and students should leave our setting ready to ‘achieve ambitious goals and live life to the full’. Our therapists are integrated into the wider staff team and have created a bespoke Needs Led Curriculum that includes dedicated curriculum time to developing pupil and student social interaction and functional independence. We also have a strong emphasis on ensuring quality of life for both pupils and staff and are launching a comprehensive piece of work to ensure that emotional and mental wellbeing are at the heart of what we do.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and strongly motivated individual to join our experienced team providing intensive specialist support for pupils and students. We seek a Therapy Assistant who wants to develop their skills in providing therapeutic support for our learners. The role would entail working under the direction of qualified Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist and includes delivery of programmes, observations and information gathering, support in class and clinical note writing.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for learners. You will build rewarding relationships with the pupils and students you work with, as you become part of our close and caring community.
