In the College Trade Training Centre (TTC), we offer a range of qualifications to support students’ vocational learning. We are seeking a Trade Training Centre Support Assistant to work alongside our vocational trainers across these qualifications. This is a multi-faceted position that will require flexibility in the support of hospitality, events, hairdressing, and make-up.

Responsibilities will include:
• Providing support to students and trainers through assessment and training sessions
• Meeting with trainers to clarify daily set up requirements for learning activities and assessments
• Supporting during special events such as college productions and hospitality events
• Monitoring resources, ordering and stock rotation across the TTC as required
• Other duties to support the Trade Training Centre’s operations and functions as directed

The successful applicant will have a passion for working with young people studying vocational pathways. Previous or current experience in areas of make-up, hairdressing, hospitality and/or events would be an advantage.

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:

Position Tenure:  Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  Semester 2

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 20 hours per week - Term Time

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $29.77 per hour

Employment Conditions:  Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
