Job overview
Warwick Schools Foundation, comprising of King's High School and Warwick School, are seeking to recruit good graduates, including those looking to change career, to train as secondary school maths teachers.
This year long, entirely school-based training, leading to the award of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a PGCE, will take place on the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation Campus with placements available at both local state and independent schools. Our schools have a long and successful record of inspiring students to study mathematics, facilitating the achievement of high academic results and filling students with a love of numbers. The scheme will be led by subject experts at the schools. The Kingsley School, Leamington Spa, and Avon Valley School, Rugby, are also available as placement schools.
Warwick Schools Foundation is leading the Warwick Regional Hub of the National Mathematics and Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training Scheme (NMAPS).
More information, including eligibility criteria, can be found at our dedicated NMAPS page, via the NMAPS website or by contacting Rosemary Chapman on nmaps@warwickschools.co.uk
Successful applicants are eligible to apply for the tax free £27,000 bursary available through the Department for Education or £29,000 scholarship from the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
More information can be found at the Get Into Teaching government webpages.
