Trainee Teacher of A level Mathematics & Physics

We are looking to recruit trainee teachers at this highly successful Sixth Form College. You will be motivated and enthusiastic and interested in teaching 16-19 year old students.

You should have a good honours degree with specialist knowledge of both Mathematics and Physics,  and be able to take up a full time post from September 2020 with an initial induction and training period of six/seven weeks in June/July 2020.

We offer a 2 year trainee programme with an annual salary of approximately £24,000. The college will fund the PGCE teaching qualification which you will study for on a part time basis alongside ‘on the job’ training. The College will provide a high level of support and you will have assigned mentors.

About Sixth Form College Colchester

The Sixth Form College Colchester is a non-denominational, mixed sixth-form college for around 3,200 students aged 16 and older. It was founded in 1987 and is located on the site of a former school. The old building at the college dates back to 1912. 

In 2011, the Sixth Form College Colchester opened a new language centre; a series of new buildings, including a performing arts centre, have been added in recent years. Among its alumni are television presenter Dermot O’Leary and Blur frontman Damon Albarn.
