Job overview

As one of the fastest growing colleges in the country, these are exciting times at Coulsdon. Over the last three years, we have been partners with Reigate College in providing specialist sixth form education for over 3,000 full time students across the two colleges. Together, we ensure outstanding quality and exemplary support for the young people we serve. As a member of staff you will be valued and supported; in return we are looking for commitment, drive and enthusiasm.

Would you like to train as a teacher in the post-compulsory sector whilst being paid to do so?

We have substantial and successful experience of training teachers and now wish to appoint a Trainee Teacher of Physics to join a successful and supportive department.

The post offers an outstanding opportunity to train to teach alongside a highly experienced and mutually supportive team of teachers in a College with excellent facilities.

We are looking for someone who is fully committed to a career in teaching and who is willing to help make the College a purposeful and supportive community in which to work. You will be fully supported during your training and as you settle into College life. We have a well-developed mentoring system and a comprehensive continuing professional development programme.

This post is a fixed term, full-time appointment and is effective from September 2016 to July 2018. It is important to note that the College is unable to guarantee you any employment once your training is complete. Trainees are paid from £15,522 to £19,235 per annum (including local allowance), depending on the balance of duties between teaching and learning support.

For further details about this post you can download an application pack from http://coulsdon.ac.uk/job-vacancies or email recruit@coulsdon.ac.uk or call the Personnel Department on 01737 558051. Please note that CVs are not accepted unless accompanied by an Application Form.

Closing date: 09:00 am Friday 9th September 2016. Interviews are planned to take place the week commencing Monday 12th September 2016.

Coulsdon Sixth Form College is an Equal Opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and an online check of the barred list via the DBS.
