The school seeks to appoint a passionate and well-qualified graduate to the role Trainee Teacher of Physics, joining a team of six enthusiastic and proactive Physicists. This would be a two year fixed term contract, with the objective of gaining a Secondary PGCE and QTS Status on completion.
The Physics department has a strong focus on skills development and independent learning. Supported by technical staff and a range of new technology, practical work is carried out in the classroom and laboratory.
Although full support will be provided, the trainee teacher appointed will need to have the ability to teach up to and including GCSE and A Level from the outset, on a reduced timetable to allow for their studies.
We currently teach IGCSE Edexcel at GCSE, AQA Physics at A Level and Standard and Higher level Physics in the IB Diploma Programme.
All members of the department play a role in the extensive extra-curricular life of the faculty and our students enjoy participating in a wide range of additional activities, in a stimulating and fun learning environment.
